Anat Zahor

Anat the founder of Yoga-Studio – Yoga Dharma School in Tel Aviv.
She is a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher, a practitioner and teacher of Yoga, meditation and Buddhism.

Anat has been practicing Yoga since the early 1980's. Later she broadened her learning into Tai Chi-Chuan, Chi Kung, Taoism and Buddhist studies, a fact that led her in 1994 to her first Vipassana Meditation retreat. Since then Buddhism has become the basis of her life view and action.

In 1996 she focused her Yoga practice in the system developed by B. K. S. Iyengar, which she adopted as her personal Yoga style, and in 1999 she was accredited as a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher from the RIYMI center in Pune, India.
Anat participated Yoga workshops with various Senior teachers at different countries, including B. K. S. Iyengar himself, visited the RIYMI center in Pune, several times to study with the Iyengar family.

For the last 15 years Anat has been traveling around the world, staying for monthly retreats at the Chom Tong monastery in Northern Thailand for the practicing of Vipassana Meditation under the guidance of Venerable Ajaan Tong Sirimangalo, and also translated to Hebrew his book , The Only Way, (Path to Nibbana ).

Anat gives Dharma talks on Buddhism and meditation at the Bhavana House in Tel-Aviv for the last 10 years. She was invited to teach at the Yogacharya Festival dedicated to B.K.S Iyengar, on July 2007, in Santa Clara, U.S.A. She opened and was Director the Yoga Dharma teachers' training course, 2009, a collaboration with the Sport Club of the University of Tel-Aviv and was a co-founder of "Lotus" Yoga center in northern Tel Aviv where many of her pupils alumni of her Yoga-teachers courses teach.

Anat and her life companion, Dr. Reuven Barak, MD, a Physician practicing Traditional Chinese Medicine, are the authors of the book Mapa's Guide for Healthy Life, published in Israel.
